Welcome to the Grads Hockey Factory! Kevin Tansey commits to Clarkson! The Cumberland Grads are proud to announce that defenceman Kevin Tansey has verbally committed to play for Clarkson University. As a 16 year old Kevin played a key role for the Grads both in the regular season and the playoffs. Often matched up against the opponents top line, Kevin continually got better throughout the season and had many scouts turning their attention his way. The Cumberland Grads look forward to Kevins continued progression this season. Congratulations Kevin!
Michael Borkowski commits to Colgate! The Cumberland Grads are very pleased to announce that Michael Borkowski (F-92) has committed to D-1 Colgate University. A skilled forward with grit, Michael plays hard at both ends of the ice. As proud as we are of his on ice accomplishments; including having been voted the top prospect in the Central League this past season, we are as equally proud of Michael's character and his off ice dedication to the game. This signing is yet another example of the Cumberland Grads Hockey Factory selecting and developing young student athletes for higher levels. Congratulations Mike!

Grads announce Summer Camps |
Watch any Grads game online! |
| Once again the Cumberland Grads will be holding a minor hockey camp this summer. This camp, for players still playing minor hockey, is over and above our import camp and conditioning camps which are for players looking to play at the junior level. Due to the popularity of our minor hockey camp, the club has expanded the program this year by adding a second week to the program - both weeks in mid August. As last year's elite program was completely sold out by May 1st, we encourage parents to register and submit payment for their chid's position for either week (or both with discount) sooner than later. When asked to comment on the reasons for the tremendous popularity of these camps, Grads owner Steve Barban noted that the kids really enjoy the camraderie of being led by elite Junior A players and head coaches, as well as the challenging nature of the program. "We pride ourselves on running a challenging full day hockey development camp", said Barban, "as opposed to a full day summer camp. Our mission is to develop young hockey players in Cumberland - look no further than our low student to teacher ratio as evidence of that". |

The Cumberland Grads are very pleased to announce that the Central League has named Michael Borkowski as the league's TOP PROSPECT. This award, voted on by all Central League General Managers and Coaches recognizes the one player born in 1992 or 1993 who in their opinion best demonstrates both a high skill level and potential for further development. Coach Paul Flindall and his staff are pleased that the entire league sees what they thought all along - that Michael is highly skilled and has a lot of potential. Playing on the top line since early January, Michael hasn't missed a beat and is sure to be a strong leader both on and off the ice for the remainder of this season and into the next. Congratulations Mike! |

Young fan meets Grads players |
Elite Hockey School information! |
Simon Leuenberger got more than he bargained for when he asked Grads defenceman Kevin Tansey for an autograph after a recent game in Navan. The 12 year-old fan, who won season’s tickets to the Grads at a charity game before Christmas, was invited into the Grads’ dressing room to meet all of the players, who also signed his Grads jersey. What a thrill!

Once again the Grads will be running the immensely popular Grads Elite Hockey School this summer. Due to the tremendous demand last summer - we sold out all camps three months in advance - this year, our camps are structured over two weeks with options to attend for either week or both weeks at an age and skill appropriate level. The Grads pride themselves on operating THE premiere, elite development camp for minor aged hockey players in the area. We take extra effort to ensure these camps are well run as evidenced by the high number of returnees every year. We employ Junior A coaches at our camps while our counsellors are all Junior A players. Couple this with guest coaches from higher levels and you have a formula that no child will want to miss out on. If you want a true development camp, be it at the elite or house league level, sign up for our camps Don't delay - as these camps sell out very quickly! |
